Let me take a second to remember the moment my life changed. When my one man's dream became a project and then a business powered by a dedicated team.
My grandmother and I watched observers at the #26 Bus Stop on Halsey and Tompkins wonder what they’ll see at the 260 Halsey Street location. We both anticipated the moment of opening the door and getting our first customer. When the first customer entered, I knew my prayers had been answered.
My restaurant business was a start-up business that went from my grandmother and myself to hiring people and from one customer to 100 of customers.
How do you get there, you're wondering?
I started Halsey Street Grill with inspiration. I was inspired by all the great BBQ restaurants that exsisted “back in the day” in Bed-Stuy. I factored in family, friends, associates, collaborating business partners and customers who help us grow. (And whom we're very grateful for.) And I work hard. I stay busy addressing the needs of my restaurant take out, delivery and catering customers. My customers referred others and bring in their family and friends.
